A long-awaited US Senate report into the CIA’s use of kidnap and torture against al-Qaeda suspects has been further delayed senior Democrats accused the CIA and the Obama administration of excessive censorship of the report.
Publication of a declassified 500-page summary of the report had been widely expected this week after it was cleared by the White House and sent back to US Senate Intelligence Committee for release to the public.
However last night Dianne Feinstein, the Democrat chair of the Committee, announced she had written to Barack Obama demanding a review of the censorship – or “redaction” - of the report by the CIA…
