US "torture" report delayed by CIA censorship row - Telegraph
A long-awaited US Senate report into the CIA’s use of kidnap and torture against al-Qaeda suspects has been further delayed senior Democrats accused the CIA and the Obama administration of excessive censorship of the report.
Publication of a declassified 500-page summary of the report had been widely expected this week after it was cleared by the White House and sent back to US Senate Intelligence Committee for release to the public.
However last night Dianne Feinstein, the Democrat chair of the Committee, announced she had written to Barack Obama demanding a review of the censorship – or “redaction” - of the report by the CIA…

Not only do Americans say the best way to fix it is to fire everyone (but it rarely happens), a new poll has some very specific finger pointing.The Washington Post-ABC poll shows that 51 percent of voters disapprove of their own member of Congress. In the quarter-century that the Post-ABC has been asking the question, this is the first time it’s ever eclipsed the 50-percent mark. Only 41 percent approve of their own member.

Obama on CIA’s post-9/11 tactics: ‘We tortured some folks’
President Barack Obama made a rare acknowledgment during a Friday press briefing concerning the United States’ past use of enhanced interrogation tactics in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
“In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we did some things that were wrong. We did a whole lot of things that were right, but we tortured some folks. We did things that were contrary to our values,” Pres. Obama said near the end of a nearly hour-long press briefing at the White House in Washington, DC.
